April Indigenous Women’s Healing Circle be hosting a Healing & Wellness Through Art Therapy with Waawaaskoneh Kwe, Ojibwe from Atikakmeksheng Anishnawbek.

Supply pickup during our YNL Taco Drive Thru on April 9th from 4pm to 7pm or During Senior Luncheon Drive Thru on April 15th from Noon to 4pm. If unable to make either of these pick up times, please let me know and will mail supplies.

Virtual St. Kateri Prayer Circle

Senior Luncheon, Drive-Thru

We will be providing Senior Luncheon Drive-Thru. Our drive-thru luncheon will be on Thursday March 18th, 2021 starting at 12:00PM. Must RSVP by Wednesday afternoon March 17th by calling 773-509-2344. Limited Delivery Service will be available for our Elders and Seniors without transportation.

Pick Up in front of St. Kateri Center at 3938 N. Leavitt St. Chicago, IL 60618. Please Call Upon Arrival and will bring your dinner to your vehicle.

Easter Baskets

In partnership with the AIC will be having food baskets for our Native American Families. For children 12 and under will be providing Easter Baskets. On Saturday March 27th from 1pm to 4pm. Join us for a short discussion and book reading of Atika's Medicine with Author Maria DesJarlait. Maria “White cedar woman” is an indigenous woman who is from the Arikara tribe of Fort Berthold reservation in North Dakota and Ojibwe from Red Lake, Minnesota.

This is a Native American picture book called Atíka’s Medicine. It takes place in Fort Berthold reservation in North Dakota with Atíka (grandma in Arikara) and her granddaughter Ayasha (little one in Ojibwe). Ayasha is visiting her Atíka for the summer and learns how to overcome being different at school such as poverty, culture beliefs and bullying. Atíka is a colorful, funny character who ends up using her talent of making the best fry bread on the rez from her house. This is all to raise money for Ayasha and her big sister Aiyanna’s school clothes and supplies. She shows her granddaughters how to get their point across positively about who they are. Their Atíka’s medicine is from their family’s strength.
