PowWow for Missing & Murdered Indigenous Relatives

AIHSC and partners St Kateri Center, Waking Women Healing Institute, UIC Native American Support Program, Chicago Commission on Human Relations, Chicago Therapy Collective, Cook County Forest Preserves and The Long Red Line of Elgin are hosting a one day PowWow dedicated to MMIR (Missing & Murdered Indigenous Relatives) on April 30th, 2022. The event will be held at Bunker Hill Forest Preserve (11am-4pm CST). See bottom of page for map.

Senior Luncheon

Please Join Us this Thursday for Senior Luncheon. Doors Open at 11am, lunch served at noon followed by Free Mini Prize Bingo. American Indian Health will be here to do wellness checks. Also immediately following bingo, Please Stay and AIHS will be doing a Gardening and Medicinal Tea Class, supplies will be provided.

St. Kateri Center Family Retreat

St. Kateri Center is hosting a Family weekend Retreat. Join us for Prayer, Cultural Activities, Storytelling and Family Fun. We are scheduled to leave St. Kateri Center by Charter Bus on Friday March 25th, 2022, at 4:30pm and Return Sunday March 27,2022 at approximately 4:00pm. LIMITED SPACES is available. Please Join Us for our Virtual Prayer Circle VIA Zoom on Third Tuesday Evenings at 6pm, Our next one is this coming Tuesday February 15th. Senior Luncheon, Drive-Thru for January 2022

Due to the high rise in covid cases, and the safety and well being of our seniors and elders. January 20th Luncheon be providing a Senior Luncheon Drive Thru at American Indian Health Services Parking Lot, 4236 W. Montrose Ave @ Noon. Indigenous Women's Healing Circle

Monday October 18th, Traditional Knowledge Sharing about “Tasenhwaang, Spirit Plates" with Ojibwe Elder, Mary Elliott from Atikameksheng Anishnawbek. This will be a hybyrd session our guest will joining in by zoom and in person will share a small feast together @5:30pm and 6:00pm Guest will join by Zoom and following will be making a birch bark spirit plate for upcoming All Souls Day. St. Kateri Staff and Leadership would like to say Chi-Miigwetch, a big thank you to Josee Starr for all her hard work and dedication with the youth here at St. Kateri Center. She did an amazing job during her time here with us and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

With this being said, St. Kateri Center is seeking a Part-time Youth Coordinator to join the team. Please see the following job description.

Senior Luncheon

We are excited to be able to have Senior Luncheon in person on Thursday July 15th, 2021. Doors will open at 11am. American Indian Health Services of Chicago will be with us for blood and glucose testing. Following lunch will be having a free mini prize bingo. If you are fully vaccinated masks are optional. Look forward to seeing everyone in person and all of your beautiful faces.
